Cargill Health and Food Technologies Announces
New Sales Director in Europe
MINNEAPOLIS - October 12, 2006 - Cargill has hired Olivier du Châtelier as sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the company’s Health & Food Technologies business.
Du Châtelier will promote the continued expansion of Cargill’s CoroWise™ Naturally Sourced Cholesterol Reducer™ brand of plant sterols in the European market. Launched in the United States in 2003, CoroWise™ plant sterols are cholesterol-lowering ingredients that can be added to foods and beverages. When consumed as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, they have been clinically shown to lower cholesterol and are approved in the EU for use in a variety of foods. Cargill also provides regulatory guidance, applications development and consumer insights to customers marketing products that contain CoroWise™ plant sterols.
Prior to joining Cargill, du Châtelier was general manager of MeadWestvaco Emballage, a packaging supplier to the food and beverage industry. He also served as European market manager in the company’s packaging systems Europe division.
